Navratri : The Story Of Goddess Durga & Mahishasur

The Nine Nights of the Goddess is the most important time to make important changes in your consciousness. The Goddess comes with the power to change the Destiny of people. The Yogis look forward to this time of The Goddess. It’s all taking place during the nights, that’s why it’s called the Nine [9] Nights of The Goddess.

There was a demon king called the Mahishasura and this king was so lethargic he's a personified lethargy and genuine lethargy is there it swallows up all good qualities. You may have wonderful qualities you may have creativity you may be a very good speaker you may be anything good administrator but if you have lethargy it's all finished.

Mahisha means buffalo.Buffaloes are considered as very lethargic so you usually call buffaloes are the natural speed breakers in the road. If you come across a buffalo in the street, you have to change your route you have to steal your car around, that is this asura.
Mahishasura was a buffalo headed demon born to the Asuras and Mahisha buffalo.
He performed 'Tapas' and pleaded Lord Brahma.
On being denied immortality he got the boon of attaining death only by the hands of a woman. Drunk with power he had attacked heaven and defeated the Devas. He declared himself Indra - Ruler of the heaven.
On learning this the Trimurthis Brahma, Vishnu and Ishwar joined together They created a female form more powerful and beautiful than a thousand suns and all god.
This was Maa Durga Captivated by her beauty and on the condition put by Goddess Durga Mahishasura agreed to battle her to win her heart.

Mahishasur was fighting with her and he was not successful. He took many forms of all different animals' nothing worked in front of the divine energy which is total energy. It's a total energy of all the god and goddesses. All the power was there the complete power of the Infinity that is Durga.
This continued for nine days until on the tenth day Durga assumed the final form of Chandika killing Mahishasura with the Trident Celebrating triumph over evil is why "Dashami" is celebrated.
Durga means very difficult impossible, and one who can help you cross over the impossible. Whatever appears to be so big and impossible to handle you just pray to Durga, and she comes and uplifts you like a tiny mother and helps you cross the ocean of the Samsara.
To overcome the misery you need enormous energy and that energy is Durga. To know God you need energy. God is already there anyway everywhere when it is dark you don't see the things all around. Everything is elevated but the power of light make you realize the things.

Similarly, though God is present in every particle all around you cannot know it unless there is the spirit, unless there is the divine energy, and the divine energy is mother divine. So mother divine with her compassion helps you to get over the negative trends.
The story tells us even the good qualities can be harmed by inertia. So what can really destroy inertia is the energy the Kundalini energy. The inner energy nerve force of Durga destroys the lethargy and negativity.
