In a very short time, Indian astrology, also known as Vedic Astrology, has gained great popularity among Indians and has become an important part of Hindu astrology. Because it has proven successful in getting the attention of many people in India, it has also become a common phenomenon widely used in Indian astrology today. As we already know, the concept of Vedic astrology comes from one of the oldest Indian spiritual writings, meaning light science.

As revealed to the great philosophers of the time, Vedic astrology was initially introduced between 1500 and 2000 BC. Of these, Maharishi Parashara proved to be the most influential. He also published a text called Brihat Hora Sastra. This text is still the most cited text today, appearing in many translations to make it understandable to people from different countries. There were a total of 18 sages, but Parashara had the most followers of them all.

What is Vedic Astrology?

Dasha tends to give better predictive accuracy to Vedic astrology than to Western astrology. These "planetary reigns' special to this system give Vedic astrologers the upper hand in predicting trends, changes, and events in your life quite accurately. For this reason, Vedic astrologers talk less about your life in general and dig deeper into what is going to happen in your life.

Vedic astrology has 27 constellations, which then form its 12 zodiac signs. In these signs, nine planets indicate different situations that a person may face in human life. The signs of the human moon are determined by which month a particular sign is present at birth. A visual representation of astrology is called a "horoscope chart".

More on Vedic Astrology:

Vedic astrology is a new name invented by Vedic astrologer David Frawley, but it is mostly known as Hindu astrology or Indian astrology. In Vedic astrology, the planets are considered the karma of the soul. The core of this astrological system is built on the doctrines of reincarnation and karma. To the question, "What is Karma?" The answer is: "Karma" is the overdue credits or debits of our lives, the good or bad consequences of our past lives.

There are planetary measures that help to balance karmic tendencies, avoid hardships, and ease suffering when change seems impossible, but it is very important for us to continue to grow. Some of these measures include the use of gemstones, meditation, chanting mantras, Ayurvedic medicine, and yoga.

For example, if one of the planets suffers, using a gem or reciting a mantra on that planet can change the karma associated with it. However, an experienced Jyotish should do this carefully on the basis of a Vedic chart, as using the wrong gem or carrying the wrong mantras can actually be detrimental to another person.

Basic principle of Vedic astrology:

Basically, in summary, in astrology, everything is interconnected. Your possessions or karma are already determined by a predetermined cosmic plan. Your soul is embodied in your body at certain times and places, just as when flowers bloom at a certain time, so your life reflects the larger whole you are born into when everything goes according to nature. Likewise, our birth into this world is according to the theory of karma, which is part of Vedic astrology.

How to create good karma for yourself?

Vedic astrology charts

In Jyotish, the most important thing is the Vedic map. It is a map of the planets belonging to the zodiac signs. Vedic astrology charts are made based on accurate moments and the exact location where you were born, called the "birth chart."

After reading your birthplace and heaven maps, astrologers claim to know everything about you. However, the position of the planets in the actual star-based horoscope is chosen and the "dashas," which is a predictive timeline, is arranged. Your Vedic astrology chart will very likely reflect your real life, and most likely, your "dashas" will work as they should.

A Vedic astrologer sees your planet, signs, and house placements in your Vedic astrological chart and is able to "tell" your personality and then what is most likely to happen next in your life, regarding both the good and bad moments in your life. Then comes the game of dashas, which is used to determine "when" events unfold in your life.

Vedic Astrology Predictions

Dasha tends to give a better predictive accuracy to Vedic astrology than Western astrology. These "planetary reigns’ special to this system give Vedic astrologers the upper hand in predicting trends, changes, and events in your life quite accurately. For this reason, Vedic astrologers talk less about your life in general and dig deeper into what is going to happen in your life.

The signs of the human moon are determined by which month a particular sign is present at birth. A visual representation of astrology is called a "horoscope chart".

Nakshatra

Nakshatras are also known as "mansions of the moon". They are one of the 27 divisions of heaven, and they recognize the stars that appear in them in Hindu astrology. In historical Hindu astrology, they dropped to either 27 or 28 nakshatras. Today, a fixed system of 27 nakshatras is commonly used today. However, the missing 28th Nakshatra is Abhijit.

Adoring and propitiating the Abhijit Nakatra is the most important of all the Nakshatras, as it is the King of all the Nakshatras, and adoring and propitiating it has the power to cure all the other Nakshatras. Remedial action is usually a sign of all the work of realistic predictive astrology and greatly degrades karma.

Branches of Vedic Astrology

There are many fields in Vedic astrology into which astrology can be further subdivided, based on the common basic principles of the planets, signs, and houses.

The main branches of astrology widely used in India are Parashar and Vaishnava, which are practiced by most Indians today and are considered to be the most popular among Indians. Jaimini, Shri KN Rao recommended this branch of astrology, and it is mostly used in the Andhra Pradesh region of India.

Nadi astrology is another great branch that is very famous among Indians, as the Library and Research Center for Oriental Manuscripts of the Chennai Government also translated and published a few of Mani’s manuscripts.

The fourth branch dealing with astrology is Krishnamoorthy Paddhati. However, no one has gone beyond the remedies to discover the method it employs to calculate dashes, etc. The last branch is known as Prashna. The literal meaning of Prashna is a question. This type of astrology is used to answer questions at any time using its basic principles.

How is Vedic astrology different from Western astrology?

The most significant difference between Vedic astrology and Western astrology is that it uses fixed zodiac signs instead of the moving signs used in Western astrology.

The gradual tilt that the earth experiences on its axis is because the planet earth moves continuously on its axis. If you count it from the earth's ratio to the sun, it moves at a speed of just under 1/6 degree annually.

Currently, the idea of considering a moving horoscope is about 23 degrees away from a real star-based or fixed horoscope, making almost no difference to the entire zodiac sign.

Because the two systems are skewed from each other because of an almost complete zodiac sign, the sun signs you receive daily from the newspaper seem to be one sign backwards when you look at the charts using Vedic Astrology.

So, when you use Vedic astrology, you tend to find out that you no longer belong to the sun sign that you always thought you were.

However, if you were born on the nails of the last five days of the Western sign month, you probably have the same horoscope in both Western astrology and Vedic astrology.

Signs of Vedic Astrology:

According to the Vedic astrology horoscope, the astrological signs are the same as the sun signs, but only the dates of the Vedic astrologies seem to be different.

The dates of Vedic astrology are mentioned as follows:

  •  Aries April 14 - May 15
  •  Taurus May 15 - June 15
  •  Gemini June 15 - July 16
  •  Cancer July 16 - August 17
  •  Leo August 17 - September 17
  •  Virgo September 17 - October 17

These dates allow you to easily determine your Indian zodiac sign. In addition to this, there are also numerous free Vedic astrology sites that can help you determine your horoscope.

Modern Vedic Astrology:

To this day, astrology is a very important part of the lives of many Hindus. According to Hindu culture, their new-born are still named after their Jyotisha list. They use Vedic astrology on a daily basis in their lives because their astrological concepts are used to create their calendars and holidays and to make decisions related to marriage, starting a new business, or moving to new places.

Astrology also has a position corresponding to the sciences of modern India. In fact, some Indian universities also offer astrology as a degree programme where people can pursue their careers. As Indians have shown a growing interest in astrology and matters related to astrology, even after seeing its importance in the lives of Indians, this initiative was taken.

To this day, astrology is still an important part of Hindu life. Many Hindus also tend to believe that celestial bodies, which include planets, have an effect on all human life and that these planetary effects are the "fruits of karma".
